SACRAMENTO — November 7, 2026. The new Love 916 volunteer campaign begins Saturday with a community beautification project at 910 I Street, scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon.
What volunteers will do. The city invites residents to help plant flowers, spread mulch and remove litter in a downtown park. Participants may volunteer for part of the morning rather than remain for the entire session, depending on organizer instructions. The project is supported by Sacramento’s Department of Youth, Parks & Community Enrichment and Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes.
Who is behind the broader campaign. Love 916 brings together Keep America Beautiful, Keep California Beautiful, Niagara Cares and municipal partners. The program is planned to continue through April 2027 and will pursue additional neighborhood cleanup and planting activities.
How to participate. Organizers encourage advance signup, though local reporting indicates same-day registration may be available. Residents should follow volunteer supervisors for equipment and safety rules. An announced kickoff cannot establish how many people actually volunteered or how much litter was collected.
