SACRAMENTO — November 7, 2026. Sacramento’s Incident Management Team published its October response report, recording 197 placements into city shelter sites and removal of 219,140 pounds of trash during a reporting period spanning October 5–November 1.
What city teams handled. The city reported 2,031 homelessness-related calls for service, 7,407 new cases opened and 7,698 closed. Outreach workers enrolled 392 people experiencing homelessness into shared local outreach databases. The 197 shelter placements were into the Roseville Road campus, Outreach and Engagement Center and Sequoia Pacific Safe Camping.
Capacity at the start of November. As of November 3, the city counted four cabins available at Roseville Road, 25 places at the Outreach and Engagement Center and an average of 13 openings at other city-funded shelters, excluding those three main programs.
How to interpret the figures. These are city administrative counts, not an independently measured decline in homelessness. A shelter placement is not automatically a permanent housing placement, while reported trash weight describes sanitation activity rather than a count of people helped. Residents can consult weekly data reports to evaluate service outcomes over time.
